Remember that your main claim handout is due this Tuesday, January 18th. Click here for a copy of that handout.

Pixton Instructions

Hello English 10HP students,

Please follow the instructions below to activate and set up your account on pixton.com.


1. Go to www.pixton.com and click “Log In” from the green section titled “Pixton for Schools.”
2. You will have to activate your account under “First Time Users.” (See picture)
3. Type in the activation key that was given to you.
4. Now select the student# assigned to you.
5. If you are the first one to log in (since you have to share accounts), you will now be prompted to make a screen name and a password. To make it simple, you should just use your student#:

Screen name: student0#
Password: student#

For example, if you were student22, then make your screen name”student022” and your password “student22.”

6. Make sure the other people sharing your account have the right information.
7. Make your comic!

Wednesday- 12.01.10 - Journal #8- Write about the last time you were angry. SSR.Stamp: Epigraphs Ch. 1-7 and Journal #7-8.
Thursday- 12.02.10 - CAHSEE Diagnostic Test in T110.
Friday- 12.03.10 - END OF 2nd Grading Period! Read Ch. 8.

Week of November 29-December 3rd

English 10HP

Monday, 11.29.10 - Start Catcher in the Rye Essay. What are some techniques you use before writing an essay? Gather evidence in your group and finish at least the introductory paragraph before class ends.

Tuesday, 11.30.10 - You will write a rough draft in class. Have at least one body paragraph done. We will watch the rest of "Pleasantville." The rough draft of the essay is due Thursday, 12.2.10.

Wednesday, 12.1.10 - Have OPTIC+ worksheet done to share in your Lit. Circle group. We will watch the rest of "Pleasantville." The rough draft of the essay is due Thursday, 12.2.10.

Thursday, 12.2.10 - You will do peer editing. The focus will be on formal writing techniques. Final draft of essay is due tomorrow, Friday, 12.3.10.

Friday, 12.3.10 - Notes on Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. Short clip of "Frankenstein." You will read about the myth of Prometheus. For homework, read Letter 1-4 in Frankenstein.
